Taaffe Human Geography lecture

I’ve been asked to give the Taaffe Human Geography lecture at Ohio State University later this year, probably in November.

The lectures are named after Edward J. (‘Ned’) Taaffe. Taaffe himself gave the first lecture, and John Agnew, Brian Berry, Mike Goodchild, Rob Kitchin, Audrey Kobayashi, Don Mitchell, Eric Sheppard, Neil Smith, Mike Watts, and Jennifer Wolch have all given ones in recent years.

I’ll be speaking on some (yet to be decided) aspect of the history of the concept of territory project. I plan to finish this ms. while in the US in the autumn, so talks like this (and probable ones at UW, UBC, UCLA and Oregon) will be really helpful in firming up parts of the arguments. I’m speaking about nothing else until this book is finished. It will also be nice to be back in Columbus.
