Library

A pretty productive day in the libraries – Senate House and Warburg. I managed to track down a large number of the Leibniz references, although inevitably there were a few deadends. I also need to reread one text as I found a discussion in a secondary source that contradicted the claims I was making. I think it’s mistaken, but I need to check and possibly fine-tune the argument.

I was also able to do a bit of work on some other sections. There is a very brief discussion of Spinoza and I needed to check a few passages to the Latin. I’m glad I did. The original does not say what I expected, or what the translation I read led me to think it would be, and some of the claims I might have made need to be revised.

I also discovered another classical Latin text that discusses territorium. There are so few this is quite important.
