   A friend of me told me yesterday that the occupation at Warwick is threatened with legal action by the VC (Nigel Thrift) and his council. The same VC was once a critical academic himself. The VC of Birmingham played a similarly questionable role when he instigated and approved of the violent eviction of students last week.

   I find it sad that such once-upon-a-time academics now oppress students and their unions while concurrently refuse to make any concessions on their outrageous salaries. Nigel Thrift, for example, apparently earns close to 300k and receives free accommodation from the University.
