Back in Nigeria

Arrived in Abuja a couple of days ago. Although I was in Abuja briefly on my last trip to Nigeria it wasn’t for that long, and seeing anything was restricted by the security after a bombing. This trip I will have a lot more time here since the north is seen as too dangerous. There is a lot of security visible, around supermarkets, offices and homes for Western workers. But it feels a world away from Kano.

Susan was briefly on the Today programme on Wednesday – talking about the contraception projects she works with in the north of the country. The report begins about 47 minutes in.  There were also two BBC website stories about this (here and here) and then The World Tonight had a brief report.
