This may appear facetious but it is a genuine question: How do you find time to read all of the books that you get? You must be a prodigiously quick reader!

I do read fairly quickly, but it’s also about building up a working library of texts I want access to easily. Some of those I buy I’ve already read; some are for reference; others go onto a ‘to read’ shelf near my home desk that I work through as time allows. I get quite a bit of reading done when travelling – trains and planes. In the summer I also get through quite a lot while watching test match cricket!
