I’ve just heard that the Royal Geographical Society has given me the Murchison Award. This award goes annually to the author of publications judged to contribute most to geographical science in recent years and has been awarded to me “for publications in political geography”. The award will be presented by the President, Michael Palin, at the Society’s Medals and Awards celebrations on Monday 6 June 2011.
