AAG reflections

I enjoyed the AAG, as much for the possibilities it created as for the sessions themselves. Gerard Toal has written up some reflections which I fully agree with – it has become huge, and it is just impossible to negotiate a way through. Congratulations to Gerard, Carl, Alex for their awards.

This year I went to far fewer sessions, enjoyed the ones I went to more as a result, and had a lot of time for meetings with friends, publishers, co-editors, collaborators, etc. I should be able to post the audio file of the Pierre Macherey, Hegel or Spinoza panel soon; whereas I think with the Leibniz one I need to see if I can sync it up with the slides which might take a bit longer.

And the AAG was in New York. Even in February this was good, although it wasn’t in the best part of town; next year it is in L.A. in April…

[update: Jeremy Crampton has some reflections here; and Dean Bond here]
