MayDay Rooms

Radical archives for Radical Philosophy

Radical Philosophy is celebrating the launch of a new issue and the donation/depositing of its own back issues this week (1972-1992), fascinatingly, at the MayDay Rooms archives in central London. I didn’t know anything about the archive until it was mentioned to me but it presents a fascinating project I’d hope in the future to visit and discuss with our students.

One of the project’s main goals is to produce a:

(counter) institution dedicated to collecting, preserving, and enabling access to archives of dissent and radical expression, especially those now under threat of loss or destruction, focused initially on the British Isles but respecting no borders.

Doing a bit of quick searching I came across a few different and informative blog postings over at Experimental Geographies and Counterpunch which give a bit more detail to the project.
