Mostly books I’ve mentioned here before – Francis Dupuis-Déri, Killer Althusser: The Banality of Men – trans. Mélissa Bull; Pascale Drouet, Shakespeare and the Denial of Territory: Banishment, Abuse of Power and Strategies of Resistance; Achille Mbembe, Brutalism; Carlo Ginzburg, Threads and Traces; Steven Connor, Gaston Bachelard: An Intellectual Biography; Daniele Lorenzini ed. The Foucauldian Mind. I have a chapter in The Foucauldian Mind and Pascale Drouet’s book was recompense for review work. The others were bought new or second-hand.
I wrote about Ginzburg in a recent piece here; and am planning one on Suzanne Bachelard, Gaston’s daughter. I’ll be teaching Althusser and Mbembe in the autumn.
