The 2026 edition of Didier Eribon’s biography of Foucault, with a new preface; Léopold Sédar Senghor, Œuvre poétique; Serge Bilé, Noirs dans les camps nazis; Foucault, Dits et écrits. Une anthologie, ed. Henri-Paul Fruchaud; Jean-Paul Sartre, Carnets de la drôle de guerre; Foucault, La Croisade des enfants, ed. Arianna Sforzini; Gilles Deleuze, Sur Foucault I: Les formes du savoir, cours octobre-décembre 1985; and Mikhail Bakhtin, Rabelais and his World.
Apart from the new preface, Eribon’s biography appears unchanged from the 2011 edition, though that is substantially longer than the version available in English. I write about Senghor’s time as a German prisoner of war here. This edition of Sartre’s Carnets has material not in the English translation War Diaries – notably a notebook unknown at the time of the first edition. Bakhtin’s book is the original English translation; though there is Rabelais and his World: A New Translation by Sergeiy Sandler, which I haven’t seen yet. The Foucault books have been timed for his centenary, which I wrote about here.
